To participate in tryouts/practice:
- Must be Academically Eligible.
- Students must be cleared through www.registermyathlete.com including sports physical clearance. See Athletics page for more info.

Practice/Meet Location: Ventura Aquatic Center at Ventura Community Park, 901 S. Kimball Road
Transportation: There will be a bus provided to the Ventura Aquatic Center (VAC), leaving FTHS daily at 2:05pm (route 108). Students who are trying out or on the team should meet the bus in the front of the school immediately after their 5th/6th period. Practice will finish at 5pm and students should be picked up promptly from the VAC. Please see Karrie in the front office with any questions.

About the Coach
Bio
Coach Giles brings with him a tremendous amount of experience with over 30 years of coaching swimming at the high school, club, and college levels. He began coaching swimming at Newport Harbor and Canyon-Anaheim High Schools in Orange County. Recently he headed the Boys and Girls swim programs at Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park High Schools.
As Co-Head Coach, he helped lead Foothill’s Girls Water Polo team to a CIF Championship title in its inaugural year. His programs have won multiple swimming and water polo Championships, from County Youth Leagues, to High School in swimming and water polo, to Community College Conference and State Titles, and National Club Championships in water polo from youth to Senior Nationals.
Giles has been able to work for, and alongside, some legendary coaches that have influenced and fine-tuned his craft and passion for swimming and water polo. His programs have helped develop some outstanding high school, club, and collegiate athletes and teams. Giles has coached high school, club, and college swimming and water polo All Americans and Scholar-Athletes, while placing an emphasis on Team Scholar Awards.
